Vidya Balan Dirty Picture and Aishwarya Heroine are almost same

As soon as Aishwarya Rai’s film Heroine, which is going on floors this June, was announced in Cannes, Ekta Kapoor didn’t take too long to announce the production date of her film Dirty Picture.

The film Dirty Picture, based on the life of the south sex bomb Silk Smitha, went into production yesterday with a sterling cast and crew. The film, to be directed by Milan Luthria, stars Vidya Balan (essaying Silk Smitha), Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor. It has been scripted by the talented Rajat Aroraa. Music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar is in charge of the score of the film.

But why is Ekta in a hurry to make Dirty Picture? The reason is Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine and its similar setting. Both the films are based on an actress’ life and will give a voyeuristic insight into the world of fame. Till now Dirty Picture was just on papers, then too the movie was riding high on buzz, thanks to the PR machinery.

On the other hand, Madhur Bhandrakar was waiting to start Heroine which is also his dream project. He first wanted to have Kareena Kapoor in it but due to some problems in the script the actress said no. Madhur then changed the original script to suit Aishwarya Rai.

Since both the films are on similar lines, it’s obvious the one which releases first will have an edge over the other. Balaji has declared that Dirty Picture will release later this year while Heroine is also planned to release by the end of this year.

We can expect fireworks at the BO as two of the most stunning actresses of Bollywood will come up with their respective films.
