Aamir khan blueThe Cricket World Cup final at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai was a star-studded affair. Leading the cheering from the stands was Aamir Khan, wife Kiran Rao, actress Preity Zinta and Vivek Oberoi. Their emotions were visible, and others not in stadium broke out into the biggest party on the planet as M.S. Dhoni scored the winning runs.

"The victory lap was just incredible to watch. I had tears of joy in my eyes, looking at Sachins emotions. He deserves this more than anyone. What a historic moment. Im so lucky to be here and see this happen live in front of my eyes. India is proud of our team. Jai hind," tweeted actor Vivek Oberoi who watched the match from the stands at Wankhede.

Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya, did their own victory lap, driving out of their Juhu bungalow Jalsa, after Mahendra Singh Dhoni took India to victory with a lofty six. "Incredible! Its like we just won our independence. It is madness outside!! Abhishek, Aishwarya and me on top of the roof of car, waving tricolor and just screaming," the veteran wrote on Twitter.

"Chak De India!!! Congratulations to the team and thank you!!!" actress Lara Dutta said. Actress Bipasha Basu wrote, "Mahi (M S Dhoni) and our entire team made us so proud! What a historical moment!"

Actress Shilpa Shetty, tweeted "And History is Made! A timeless moment which will be etched in our minds forever. Well done Team India. You made us cry n made our dream come true (sic)."

"Chak De India," said a beaming Shah Rukh Khan to the media outside his Bandra residence after the team picked up the trophy.

Actress Madhuri Dixit, based in the US, watched the team lift the cup and tweeted, "What an awesome match. Both sides played well. Strong work M S Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and company!! Congrats Team India! We did it! Great job bringing the Cup back!!!."

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, a cricket buff who had fasted for Team India during the semi-finals tweeted, "Wholeheartedly wishing Team India congratulations and best wishes. (Hamari Vishwa-Vijayi Team India ko teh-e-dil se bahut aur aseem shubhkamnayein aur badhaai). After 28 years World Cup is coming home...congratulations to world champions, including Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, M S Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh."

"What should I say about you Sachin...how should I praise you..." she wrote.

"My salute to our Team, to their determination, their Courage, their talent. They have made all of us very very proud," lyricist Javed Akhtar tweeted.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, "Congrats for our nation. 1.2 Billion prayers are answered. In Mohali it was Dussehra and in Mumbai it is Diwali. India creates history winning the World Cup."

Mahesh Bhatt said, "So! I was right? M S Dhoni, the magician, performed a miracle!"

"I love u guys!! What an honor it is to represent ones country and to do it with your very best. Sri Lanka well played!! We salute your spirit!! God bless (sic)," Sushmita Sen wrote.

"Sachin Tendulkar! Its yours. Gary Kirsten Zindabad! Thank you thank you thank you! Dhoni!!!! Yuvi!!! Gambhir!!! Yes yes yes its ours! No 1 ODI Team! No 1 Test Team (sic)," actress Dia Mirza said.

Anupam Kher said, "Thank you Team India for giving us this glorious and proud moment. Jai Ho."

"Proud moment for all Indians all over the world -- so ecstatic...tears of light blue flow through. This team deserves the cup, you boys rock," actress Celina Jaitly said.

Indian tennis Sania Mirza Malik tweeted, "Sachin, what a legend...no words to describe the feeling right now. Just very proud to be an Indian like every one of you right now." "Congratulations to Team India. You boys have made more than a billion people proud. Sri Lanka you guys were great to put up a total like that in the final," she wrote.
