Aisha Film Music Review

The mood is set, the feeling feathery light, and couldn’t find a better line than “seem to walk on wings, and tread in air”, from ‘The Iliad’ of Homer, for the Aisha music score. The songs composed by the young and cute Amit Trivedi of Dev. D fame and written by the poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar have created quite a flurry in this fledgling mind.

Joie de Vivre! What better way than a song to describe Aisha (Sonam Kapoor), who moves like a style goddess and looks a beauty queen! So, here is Suno Aisha, the first song of the album crooned by Ash King and Amit himself. The track instantly perks you up with its virility and rhythm. That’s the quality of an instant hit.

No deadly use of bombastic beats for the sake of a Punjabi track. Amit has got it right with this quasi folk number Gal Mitthi Mitthi, a peppy, party track that won’t take that long to find a place in your playlist. Yes, you guessed it right; the singer is the same Pardesi boy from Dev D - Tochi Raina.

Wonder how long the bloke took to compose this song! Shaam sung by the band of fresh singers Nikhil D’Souza, Neuman Pinto and Amit is not only simple in its lyrics but in its approach too. It seems to be a naïve creation with the help of a guitar but the tone of the song just tugs at the heart like the song ‘While my Guitar gently weeps’.

After Boom Boom from the previous song, it’s a bang from Anushka Manchanda as she throws out a feeler Behke Behke. The song clearly reminds of the Saathiya beach number Chori Pe Chori. One can expect racy moves in the song given its oomph quotient. Can’t wait to see that.

The album mellows down a bit with Lehrein. Anusha Mani renders this sombre number with utter ease. Though the song is slow and melancholic, it will find its takers; yes the music has that feel which will click the youths.

Anushka Manchanda again delivers her career’s best with By The Way. The carefree, gypsy mood of the song is best expressed with the use of rock music that is not of today but bears a clear stamp of the 60s. It seems that not only the look of the film is inspired by the classic times but also its music.

What can you expect from a remix? Gal Mithi Mithi [Bombay Bounce Dhol Mix] by DJ Llyod offers you that. Let’s jive and sway to the music. Lehrein Remix wasn’t required, nevertheless the song is good.

Aisha means ‘she who lives’. The makers not only chose the perfect character name for this Sonam Kapoor-starrer which is high on juvenile verve, but struck a great music deal too. Seeing Amit’s history of producing unconventional Bollywood tracks, the ‘Aisha’ compositions have us completely floored. The composer has got fire in the belly and he has proved his mettle yet again.
