Freida Pinto in Rise of the Apes

Frieda Pinto will join James Franco in 20th Century Foxs Rise of the Apes the prequel to Planet of the Apes. In the movie Freida will play the role of Caroline, a primatologist.

Since achieving global appeal in Slumdog Millionaire, Frieda has been busy with a string of projects. She recently wrapped Julian Schnabels Miral, is currently filming Immortals the Greek gods fantasy directed by Tarsem Singh, and will next be seen in Woody Allens You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

Directed by Rupert Wyatt, Rise of the Apes will commence shooting this summer in British Columbia.

The film is expected on open on June 24, 2011
