Top-less Scene Goes Uncut

The Indian Censor Board posed no problem for Pravesh Bharadwajs super-bold film Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta for which the British actress Aruna Shields has exposed her naked beauty and has also done some steamy scenes with her co star Prashant Narayanan.

The movie, shot entirely in London, is passed with an A certificate by the Censor board. And the first-time director Pravesh seems to be happy with the decision because he wanted to retain all the three lengthy love-making scenes in the film and any cut would have affected his low-budget film thats made with a hand-held camera.

The movie was turned down by over sixty actresses before Aruna stepped in to do the role of Neera, and agreed to do the nude scenes without any apprehensions. In one of the scenes she is shown fully naked while Prashant (a painter in the film) paints her nude portrait. However, as reported by a daily, the Censor was divided over the nudity factor in the film. Some members apparently wanted to delete it totally, while others suggested that Arunas exposed bottom should be blurred in the explicit scenes.

According to Pravesh, nudity in the film is not meant to titillate, instead has a psychological impact.

Mr. Singh and Mrs. Mehta will hit the theatres on June 25.
