Imran Khans take on Film I HATE LUV STORYS

Two years after making a smashing impact in his first and only romcom JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA, Imran Khan would be seen in I HATE LUV STORYS (IHLS) which appears to be an antithesis of how love stories have been perceived and executed in Bollywood. If promos are any indication, the film makes an unabashed statement on song, dance, mush and romance in Bollywood which has been prevalent for decades. All of this happens in a lighter vein though, as agreed by Imran.

Thats right, IHLS looks at the way love stories have always been known in Bollywood and the kind of influence they have had on youngsters, says Imran who can be seen letting his hair down for this Karan Johar production which is directed by debutant Punit Malhotra, See, the fact is that there is a tendency amongst lot of people in the industry that the song and dance routine is pass. This is something that I have never understood.

Elaborating further on his amazement on the way Bollywood has been ridiculing its basic core value and strengths, Imran says passionately, We are making films for Indian industry so why not just make it the way everyone loves them? If we are making Hindi films with all the songs and dances then why be apologetic? We should be proud of what we are doing and only aspire to do something better. Do we have areas of improvement? Certainly yes. Lets work further on getting some more amazing music and amazing dance numbers but lets not do away with them please.

A co-production of UTV Motion Pictures, I HATE LUV STORYS also stars Sameer Dattani. With music by Vishal-Shekhar, IHLS releases all over on 2nd July.
